WMMT 3 DX is finally here in Malaysia!!!

Sorry for the uber late post because quite busy recently. I guess I'll skip the news on WMMT3 competition that is held by Crossfire Arcade, which just ended recently. But I'll post the results for it anyway.

1st place: JWEI (Team STAR)
2nd place: Edwin (Team STAR)
3rd place: Ray (Team STAR)
4th place: Eval (-KS-)

Yeah, you guys didn't read wrongly. Eval got 4th placing for our team but it is still a great achievement because we were all up against very skillful people and only our team is in the finals. Congratulations to us. This proves that we are still the best team in KL.

Anyway, back to WMMT3 DX topic. Finally DX is finally here!! We were one of the first few who got a taste of the new version as soon as it is installed. Thanks to Cobay Sdn Bhd for the game. Most of the features are already covered in MYWMMT.com so, if some of you who are reading this and interested to know more, you can go there with the link that is provided in this blog.

The most disappointing thing about this version in my point of view is the choice of songs as DX only have one new song which is Enjoy The Process. They should give us more songs. Also another feature is featuring avatar animals if you reach a certain amount of outrun stars, which is pretty cool for now. DX also features a new map called Nagoya Speed Ring. It is practically a knock off of Osaka with bumps and really wide corners in my opinion. Also this version features 4 new cars, which is not bad. We all at -KS- dig the new MX-5. Will get it a bit later.

But anyway, it is still a great game. For those who are reading, you can check out these locations around the Klang Valley if you are interested to try it out. All locations listed are English version machines. Sorry for those peeps who has the Japanese card.

KL area:
- Berjaya Times Square

Selangor area:
- One Utama
- The Mines

If you got anything to contribute or want to inform us about anything, you can do so by emailling us at ks.racing.my@gmail.com. Thanks to all who read our blog (if there's any). I will try my best to cover most of the WMMT3 gaming scene news. Pictures of the new version will be up later if I can get them. Stay tuned!!!

Team ST★AR makes a surprise visit to KL

Sorry for the late update. During the Deepavali holiday, Team STAR made a surprise visit to KL. We thought they were joking at that time but after we heard from the man himself a.k.a SUKI and we thought that why not go to Sunway Pyramid to find them since he told us he's already there. So, we went to Sunway Pyramid and see whether it's true or not and my god, we were shocked to see them there. On that day, SUKI brought a few members including JWEI, Edwin, WEI and a few of his other friends. To our surprise, Team REV is also there.

We did some casual battling and loafing around just like every weekend but later EVAL proposed that why not we held a tag team match between -KS- and STAR and SUKI agreed. So, we sent out 2 members to battle them which were LLP and EVAL. For them, it is their very famous JWEI and Edwin. After a grueling battle, -KS- did put up a tough fight for them and unlucky for us, we lost by 2 points but it was a good experience and everyone learnt a lot that day.

SUKI told us that Team REV would be battling Team STAR in a tag match as well and so, we just stayed there and watched before we go to Times Square, which was their next destination. Team REV's representatives were KUN and Kok. During the matches, Team STAR dominated every map, leaving them with a very heavy scar in their hearts. Right after all of the battles, we also followed Team STAR to Times Square for window shopping (for us, that is).

Upon arrival at Times Square, we headed over to the arcade to see whether there's people playing WMMT and there were a few. So, without hesitation, we challenged the locals there and guess what, the machine that we were playing on was buggy as hell. The traffic seems to be blinking non-stop but we won fortunately due to the incapability of catching up from the opponent. After finishing the race, the machine didn't stop the race and in fact, we continued racing until the machine says STOP. We LOLed at that moment.

Unfortunately, we wasn't able to ask them to stay as they told us that they were leaving tonight so, we did some photo sessions with them and they left right after that. All and all, it was a good day to remember.

-KS- claims no. 1 crown for Yoko Upward and C1 Inward!!!

On last week Saturday (18/10/2008), our TA monster, Jeff tried few runs for Yoko Upward in attempting to break Team STAR's time attack record set by their TA demon, Edwin.

On the 1st few runs, Jeff managed to come close to their record with a stunning 2'55"110 breaking his previous attempt which was 2'55"254. He was just "007 secs away from no. 1. He was not satisfied. While grumbling away, he tried another run. To our surprise, this time he managed to break the record with a 2'55"054!! We were all happy on his behalf but he told us that he wasn't satisfied on this and according to him, he is just a few mili secs away from the 1st 50 ranking. So, he tried a few more rounds in an attempt to put Malaysia on the 1st 50. After 2 rounds of vigorous trials, he managed to get only a 2'55"085 and 2'55"065. Although disappointed, he had to stop as this is his limit for today. And so, -KS- finally claims no. 1 for Yoko Upward after numerous trial and errors. Below was the final result.

At the same time, our team's previous C1 Inward King, Matt was trying to set a higher barrier for C1 Inward, which was previously broken by our TA monster, Jeff with a 2'51"904. Instead of using an EVO 9, he turned to EVO 8 to try his luck. After a few trial and errors, he only managed to get 2'52"2xx, which was a big let down to not only him but for us as well. So, he tried even harder and managed to get a surprising 2'51"895!! A new bar for Malaysia in this course. But, he was not satisfied with the result since that record is only faster by "009. Right after that, he tried a few more rounds. He was very close for the 1st few rounds but not close enough. On the last attempt of the day, after a tormenting session from the previous rounds, finally managed to break his own record with a stunning 2'51"850!! A new Malaysian record to keep other teams from reaching for the time being. Result shown as below.

All and all, it is an excellent day for -KS- and this day will be remembered in our books. After that, it is just casual battling and casual loafing around.
